Netherley's story is as old as the hills it sits beside. Run today as a family farm, Netherley farms heritage Welsh Black cattle, North Country Mule sheep and a rotation of crops. Much of the estate is covered in ancient and semi-ancient woodland, providing a sancutary for birds and wildlife.
OUR ETHOS

Productive
We believe that farms should produce food for local communities. In today's market that means focusing on quality produce from native British breeds. It means farming sustainably and where possible consuming our own produce. We are passionate about British farming and believe that farmers and those that work on farms play a huge part in the life of the nation.
Sustainable
We aim to farm with nature, not against it. That means operating a mixed enterprise that includes sheep, cows and arable. It means rotating our crops, including cover crops, participating in sustainability schemes as well as maintaining our woodland. We continuously look for opportunities to become more sustainable.

Welcoming

We want to share the beauty of Netherley with others, including the many guests that stay in our holiday cottages. Being inclusive means welcoming people into the Estate, sharing its walks and educating visitors on farming and nature. In doing so, we help local communities to thrive through employment and rural education.
